Goldin opened its online 2026 Summer Goldin 100 auction on August 19, with a Magic: The Gathering Black Lotus and a Pokemon Pikachu Illustrator among its marquee lots. The sale features 100 handpicked items and will accept bids through September 19, 2026.

The Black Lotus is a 1993 Limited Edition Alpha copy graded PSA GEM MT 10. PSA's population report lists only three copies with that top grade. The card features the original artwork by the late fantasy artist Christopher Rush and comes from the first edition of Magic: The Gathering.

Alpha Black Lotus copies in top grade rarely come to the open market. Its inclusion in the catalog places one of the most iconic pieces in Magic history alongside sports memorabilia and pop-culture collectibles.

The other standout trading card lot is a 1998 Japanese Pikachu Illustrator, a holographic CoroCoro Comic magazine promotional card graded CGC Mint 9. The artwork is by character designer Atsuko Nishida. The card was originally distributed exclusively to winners of art contests run by the Japanese magazine in the late 1990s.

Founded by Ken Goldin in 2012 and now an eBay subsidiary, the auction house is positioning both cards as high-end alternative assets. The catalog also includes game-used sporting equipment from athletes including Tom Brady, Michael Jordan and LeBron James.

Regular bidding remains open until Wednesday, September 19. Extended bidding begins at 10 p.m. Eastern Time.
