Final Titan, the new card game from Richard Garfield, will launch in the United Kingdom in the fourth quarter of the year. The release follows an exclusive UK distribution deal between Zatu Distribution and publisher Nerdlab Games.

Before its full retail launch, the game will receive an exclusive preview at Tabletop Scotland, held from September 4 to 6. The event will be the first opportunity for the British public to try Garfield’s creation, best known for Magic: The Gathering, Magical Athlete and King of Tokyo.

Final Titan was developed by Garfield in partnership with Christian Kudahl, the designer of Mindbug and Agent Avenue. The game combines character drafting with dice-driven battles for one to five players. Each participant chooses three fighters from a roster of 100 characters and pits them against one another until only one player remains.

The roster brings together unlikely matchups between figures inspired by film, video game and comic-book franchises, as well as characters from classic literature and creations by the designers themselves. Examples include a muscular Santa Claus facing off against a sandworm, a cursed pirate battling superheroes, and Cthulhu going up against Medusa.

Despite its carefully planned chaos, Final Titan uses a straightforward ruleset. Each character has unique abilities and play styles, with effects capable of changing the course of battles. The diverse roster is designed to create different combinations in every game.

The game also includes solo and two-player modes, along with a cooperative option in which players team up to take on a boss. Early reception has been positive: The Dice Tower awarded it a score of 9.5/10 and its Seal of Excellence.

Zatu Distribution will handle distribution in the UK, while Final Titan’s full retail launch is scheduled for the fourth quarter.
